Surprised no one posted in the forums yet. So not only is System Shock 3 by Otherside Entertainment is going to become a reality, but they are remaking the first System Shock and based on the feedback and footage, it is surprising faithful to the original. Some of the fans were able to recognize the areas featured in the video.
Looking forward to this (I still need to play the System Shock series).

Yeah it does for the time being, but this pre-alpha footage. They haven't found a publisher for it yet, and are considering crowdfunding to get it off the ground. It's early days yet!

I hope it's good, but I also hope it's not TOO faithful...UI and controls aside in the original system shock...there was also some pretty clunky game mechanics too.
Looks like the UI definitely has been cleaned up, probably thanks to using standard FPS control schemes, but mechanics....I see a couple little bars ticking away in the top right that I think will lessen my enjoyment....if this ever comes out, that is.

Well the engine used is actually Unity and it is an official remaster as Night Dive Studios own the System Shock IP. Of course everything is pre-alpha but so far I do find it promising.

i guess you are right i might be being too harsh. just my point of view looking at it seems like those personal small projects that have been poping up like crazy lately. its like a damn strip tease :(
