If I make a system restore disk for windows then I format my HDD and then reinstall windows 7 and then use the system restore disk to restore it to how I had it will the disk work or are the disk only compatible to that install?

What do you meen by a restore disk?
when you go to controll panel then then under system and security click on backup your computer then click on create a system restore disk.
and I'm doing this cause if i get a bug virus that I cant get off I can format my drive and keep all my drivers and settings and that kind of stuff.
it just does a clean reimage, soi it's good to have
