I'm completely new to pc, and I'm still getting the money for my new build. I was going to get windows 7 and I was wondering how would I protect my pc from viruses? This might be a really stupid question, but I'm still learning.

Well personal preference will come into play here big time but it all depends on if you want a paid security suite or free, and honestly what your using habbits will be. The best protection in my opinion is the end-user. If you are going to be downloading quite a bit off various share sites and you might possibly open any email attachment in your inbox etc etc, then you want a decent app. I use security essentials and it isnt the best by any means and some would say piss poor. But with being cautious and running frequent scans I havent had any issues with it......
I was mainly going to play games as well as the standard use for a pc (web browsing, checking e-mail, etc.).
