Synology C2 backup equivalent for TrueNAS?

Looking for a simple, foolproof backup solution that works as reliably and is as simple to use as Synology C2.

  • C2 has client-side encryption
  • C2 keeps deleted files for a year
  • C2 recovery is simple to monitor (emailed status daily)
  • C2 has a web UI for viewing backups, and emergency restores
  • Budget: 1TB for $65/€60 /year
  • All the versioning and places where mistakes could be made are done for you

Research

Backblaze B2 - Critical that deletes can be retrieved for at least 3 months. It’s too easy to realise you’ve lost something after a month, Backblaze’s B2 30-day limit is not long enough.

AWS S3 - Price is OK, the versioning is needs managing in a separate interface, also needs glacier management set up and monitored independently adding 2 place to make a mistake.

rsync DOT net - perfect, works with ZFS snapshots, $300/year :frowning:
