Ok, my dad's computer is getting extremely slow. So, we are switching him to a new computer. The thing is the new computer will have windows 7 and he loves windows xp what he's currently on) is there anyway I can switch the hard drives without getting the "different hardware" error/message! thanks!
Probably not and I wouldn't suggest it. New everything and not to mention that the old computer I would think is much older than the new. Windows 7 is pretty much just like XP anyways. The hard drive is probably EIDE rather than SATA so...I don't see this turning out well.
Just tell him to try windows 7. There are some settings you can change in the taskbar that make it look more like xp.
