Supermicro M12SWA-TF UEFI boot loop (random), What is the expected behavior while booting?

Howdy, There’s a Supermicro M12SWA-TF franken system I slapped together to see how incredible this platform is, I had parts lying around so why not?

I’m left wondering (after trying to contact Supermicro without success, I’m a home user.)

What is the expected behavior while booting?

This system goes through a random number of attempts, where it will show the Supermicro logo on the IPMI output and then finally show something on the monitor attached to the graphics card once it’s done with its temper tantrum, then boots up the OS.

Is this typical behavior, if you have one of these motherboards, what does yours do?

I’ve replaced everything but the motherboard and processor (3955).

The system is stable while running, for the most part, but won’t boot clear Linux. I went with Gentoo and AOCC plus the kernel config from Ubuntu Studio. (Stir well and serve chilled.)

Anyone?

Thanks,
John
