I might be asking a stupid question because I am a noob when it comes to Supermicro builds but here I go. I have a Supermicro H12SSL-CT, paired with 256 GB 3200 RDIMMs, AMD Epyc 7743P and one ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition 24GB GDDR6 running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
The problem is the following. Upon boot I can see the classic Supermicro boot screen (DXE-PCI Bus Enumerating, blah, blah, blah…) on my monitor up until it should normally show “Ready to boot”. Unfortunately, from that point on, the screen goes black. I have, however, discovered that the system bots up just fine and my Ubuntu log-in screen is there… but I can only access it via Supermicro BMC, via iKVM.
Obviously, I have tried switching my monitor to any of the 3 DP port and 1 HDMI port with to no avail. Also, in bios the VGA Priority is the to “Offboard Device”. I am running v3.00 on the motherboard BIOS.
As a side note, the same behavior is not reproducible with an Nvidia RTX 4090, same port on the motherboard.
Any help would be appreciated. I might be dumb and do something wrong and willing to accept/correct it.
