Supermicro H12 with Intel Arc

Hey all,

Running Unraid but not sure if that is super relevant as it doesnt actually get past to the BIOS Fully
When I went to install my Arc A380 Today - Its the Asrock low profile unit that doesnt need external power -The System fails to fully post and gets stuck on the supermicro splash screen and fans never spool hard as is normal but as soon as the [Nvidia] Card(External PSU Power Connector)is reinstalled it will boot normally

Interestingly I have 2 other PCI devices connected a 10GB Dual SFP Network Card and a U.2 Card Bifricated to x4x4x4x4 running to 4x U.2 Drives that are sata powered
and when the Arc is installed this cards lights stay out vs 4 green lights on the card - I have tested the Arc on my Windows Machine and it works so something going on here.

System Specs
Supermicro H12SSL-1Bios Rev 2.7(didnt see anything in 2.8 notes that lead to thinking would solve issue)
128GB DDR4
Epyc 7203p
4x U.2 Drives Connected to PCI Card
4x Sata HDDS and 2x Sata SSD connected direct to Mainboard
1x m.2
10GB Network Card Dell
2 8Pins Connected on board as well as the 24Pin

Has the POST Fail, only been with Arc installed?

  1. How long ago did you update UnRAID? Even if it’s fairly recently, it’s worth updating again.
  2. use Synaptic/aptitude to search for and install the Intel Arc drivers (provided UnRAID has them, but I reckon they do as it’s based on Debian, which has them)
  3. after installing the Intel Arc drivers, replace the GPU and boot again.
  4. if 3) still fails, consider installing TrueNAS Scale on a temp. SSD. TrueNAS Scale and UnRAID are both based on Linux, but the former is a bit more bleeding edge and thus more likely to include a decent (usable) Arc driver.

HTH!

Yes
If I pull the card and reinstall the Nvidia it will post no issue
