hey everyone or anyone reading this. I have a taichi x470 mobo with a 2700x and i cant get my gskill flare x 3200 cl14 ram up to speed. I have 32 gs in 4 sticks of 8. the only xmp profile in my bios page is one for a corsair kit.
this is my first build and ive pretty much taught myself everything via youtube channels, and now id like some real help everything ive read about zen + says 3200 is the sweet spot but is that ok with the cl14 cas? and the 32 gbs ? sorry if this seems noobish
Latest stable bios?
Also have you tried setting the speed manually? Not xmp profile just manually.
zen + kinda has issues with higher spped ram sometimes, but make sure you’re on latest bios. helps a ton.
bios p1.60 1.0.0.4
and i havent tried manually as im not sure what to do if it fails.

should get you headed in the right direction
Try and set manually. Just the ram speed. See if it sticks by going immediately back into bios after reboot.
ok, you’re like over a year out of date.
FIRST http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Drivers/AMD/AllIn1/AllIn1(v18.50.16.01_WHQL).zip
update chipset drivers
SECOND
http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/BIOS/AM4/X470%20Taichi(2.00)ROM.zip
put the rom file (inside the zip) on a FAT16 formatted flash drive. reboot to “instant flash”
this will update you to 2.00
THIRD

update bios to 3.50 using the same method as above
his BIOS is super out of date.
all updated thank you sooooo much for your help those quick links were so helpful for real thank you!!!
does this mean my x470 is ready for a 3700x??
you’d have to update bios to 3.60, but otherwise, yeah.
i hyad the same problem you did on x570, with ddr4 3600…
ok i got my ram up to 1599 from 933 using one of the corsair xmp profiles
still not getting that 3200 speed however
according to cpuz
yup. that’ll do it. remember its DDR (double data rate).
oh so i was reading it wrong on cpuz?
you literally just made my month thank you so much
1599 *2 is 3100, so its close.
and also is there any advantage for the new bios 3.6? i do plan on upgrading to zen 2 and i dont need pci gen 4 so im thinking this will do fine until i need to upgrade mobos
3.6 is only for zen2 / 3000 series ryzen
