Suicide Linux

So, In short, this is a program originally intended to help you spell. It was an auto correct for the terminal. Now, however, if you misstype a command in terminal, it'll run "rm -rf /" wiping the entire drive. It appears as a genuine Debian package and all. If you actually install it, the terminal will give you friendly reminders to not misstype.

it is fun to run it in a vm to improve one's bash skills.

Man talk about having a bad day... I mean if it were me I'd just install bash completion lol.

Stuff like this would make me break my computer to a thousand pieces.

Imagine running this on your primary machine and your little brother or sister starts touching the keyboard.

May the lawd have mercy.

I chuckle at the last update for the software:

Update 2015-04-18
The autocorrect functionality I originally described here was a feature of the first Linux systems I ever used, so I assumed it was how every Linux system worked by default. Since then I've come to understand that it's a completely optional extra doodad.

Yea, I'd be curious to try this optional doodad. I'd hope it works better then that on phones.

Is that meant to be a troll program or something? Just seems really fucked up.

Do you have to hit enter on the misspelling, or just misspell something?

It is if you enter a misspelled command. So, yea, you do have to hit enter to run the command. If you happen to copy and paste into a terminal it may run it without you hitting enter (Bug? Idk.) If you happen to include an extra character when you copy, GG.

.....why would anyone make such a thing?

That can happen when you include an enter (line break) into your copy.

True, I forgot about that. I never pay much attention to it since I don't need to worry about it wiping my drive.

But there already is an option for word completion in bash (kinda) XD
If I can recall correctly, you press the Tab key when you have a few words inputed and it shows you all possible options.

Tab completion has been around since..... I can't remember when it wasn't.

Bash-completion is also a great package, gives added functionality.

What is this "bash completion"

This is a great Idea....I think we can add on to it though, lets create a car that strips out the planataries in the transmission if you break the speed limit.

lets not and say we didn't. i much prefer my speed limit vs what "others" say is the speed limit.
