Are you happy with the extra you spent and happy in general?
Michael... straight up... listen... if you're doing video editing frequently... 3D rendering... or have use for virtual desktops... get the i7.... if not... you're wasting $100...unless it's worth $100 to tell your friends you have an i7... performance-wise... there is no difference in single-threaded tasks.... as far as FPS... you will get 0-negative FPS from an i7... click on my name and look at my rig... I get 90-97 FPS in BF4...
If you're gaming... i5 is the way to go even on CPU intensive games... or you can search for benchmarks for hours and come to the same conclusion... the i7 has it's uses... make no mistake... but 90% of the people that buy one don't use it...
Honestly, no I am not. While it does give me a bit of extra insurance for further endeavors, I would have been just as happy with the i5. I do make use of my i7, currently. However, I could have used that money for games or various other things.
