so, I've been running without any antivirus whatsoever for about a month now...can anybody suggest a good antivirus (preferably the best) that's free...if there isn't one I'll see if I can find something at my friend's place...The Pbay
Microsoft Security Essentials, it's free and extremely light weight and silent. It doesn't bug you and it does a great job.
ahh...well...you know, other than microsoft security essentials. I don't have an original copy of windows 8 (yet), due to the fact that microsoft is a bitch and I can't buy and download it in the country I live in (yet, apparently). And since MSE only runs on original copies of Win8, I'm gonna have to wait with that.
my personal favorite anti virus programs are avast and avg free, both have paid versions but the free versions work just fine. the best paid anti virus ive used is kaspersky. personal opinion is shell out the $45-$50 for kaspersky it is constantly updated and can be fully automated you will never see it doing its thing unless you want to
I've used AVG in the past and it was alright I guess. I hear lots of people recommend AVG often so i'm sure it can meet your needs for a free anti virus. I will say you're on the correct with wanting a free one because there is no reason to ever pay for anti virus, if you want to throw away money give it to me! ;)
alright, thanks guys.
I'm a fan of Nod 32 and NIS, both have worked flawless for me and other people i've put them on.
I payed for Avast. One message saying its Updated when you start the pc, pretty light weight (have it on two old laptops and they run fun with it), silent mode so it wont ever pop up or pull you out of a game. Has sandbox browsing and stuff. Pretty good, bit expensive, but compared to AVG paid I found it was better.
