hey guys, it's been a while since i last asked a question here and i hope you won't disappoint (which never happened before so hopes are high).
recently i got a new machine with: Asus Sabertooth 990FX, AMD 8350 x8, 16GB/1600 RAM, 120G hyperX SSD, 1TB SG storage.
the problem is now i'm using my "old" GPU from my previous machine which is about a year old by now ( from the purchase date, not release date) - a HD7750.
it's not horrible like this but i'd like to upgrade the GPU, since it's the worst part of my PC right now.
so what would you suggest? something around $200-300 and with no prefference for either Nvidia or AMD.
R9 280 (non-x) is the best gpu in terms of gaming performance, at <$300 on PCpartPicker.
Alternately, a GTX 760 is within budget, but it is a slightly lower performing card, and a little less capable when it comes to productivity or modding. But the 760 would be a great increase over your current gpu
thanks for the input Berserker, although there seems to be a larger difference in prices in Europe, or at least locally for me - the R9 280 is close to $500 (from Power Color) and $700 (from Sapphire) and the 760 is pretty much $300 from all manufacturers available to me.
i guess i'll look around a bit more but it's probably going to be a 760.
Hey, I have the same processor and 990 mobo, for my build I ended up getting a GTX 770 SC and boy was it worth it! Only problem is now where I live (in England) its getting warm and my CPU temps are starting to push a bit high so I would get a decent cooler as this chip can get hot; extra especially when Overclocked.
