Stupid Ideas: Authentic windows 98 gaming machine

I have a really old Gateway Select desktop laying around. It's one of the magical models from back when you had a separate slof for ram that was dedicated for the god damn GPU.

The specs are pretty basic.

AMD Athlon (not sure if a 64 or not, could be but I have no clue. Also no clue about clock)
768 MB ram (it's booted before with that much so I dunno what'll happen :P)
2 HDD's: a 20.5GB and a 40GB
A random netgear wireless card
A soundblaster Live! sound card
a 200 Watt PSU
and an ATi Rage 128

Somewhere I have a voodoo3 that I could put in it but I think it would be cool to have an AMD/ATi machine :P like my current PC is all AMD parts.

So what would I do with this? Showcase!

I could install windows 2000 probably and I have more than enough mice and keyboards laying around. Quake 3 anyone?

I know I'm not the only one to do this. Have any of you guys out there done something like this?

(don't tell anyone but I am totally going to put plain old dos on it)

Kinda,
Over the years I have made a couple of Arcade machines running emus (MAME etc) with Hyperspin as a frontend.
Pretty much just retro-fitting old junk parts into a cabinet with an old LCD monitor as the screen with a clear perspex cover and LED strip lighting for that old school 80's feel. The tedius part is wiring up the Arcade buttons and joysticks for the 2 player experience.

Edit: here's a video of a basic Arcade build with Hyperspin - maybe it will inspire you to build something similar :D
