Stuck with mini case

Sup all.
I told my girlfriend I plan on building a mini computer for her to do lite gaming on.
I guess I dragged my feet to long because she went ahead and order a case and ram.
now I'm stuck with this case and this ram. I already plan on tossing the power supply that came with the case.
I'm thinking of getting

I'll look into getting her a gpu later if needed.
any advice would be nice

If you're going with an APU you're going to want higher capacity, and speed ram. Also going with an SSD as her boot drive would be very beneficial.

P.S. This is a cheaper option for the hard drive I use Hitachi drive in my own system and they are very reliable http://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-HUA723020ALA641-Ultrastar-7200RPM-Enterprise/dp/B00HRLI2FU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427308065&sr=8-1&keywords=Hitachi+hard+drive

That case would fit inside my case...

Mine to.

I just noticed you mentioned getting a discrete gpu. That is not actually possible with that case since it only has low profile expansion slots.

You're not stuck with only mini-ITX for this build, that case supports mATX motherboards. I would suggest going with an mATX FM2+ board if you want to save a little money.

And yeah, like the others mentioned, with an APU you need higher speed RAM to better leverage gaming performance. You won't be able to fit a dGPU in that case unless it's a low-profile card which will really limit your choices.

One thing you could do is find a low-profile version of the R7-250 and run that in dual-graphics mode with the APU. That would give a nice bump in performance, but you need to make sure the card has DDR3 Vram, not GDDR5.

M-ITX is perfectly viable for a small (and portable) gaming rig. I am using one as I type here. As you have specced, I started with an AMD APU as a basis for my build. The APU's are a decent starter but come unstuck agains games like Crysis 3 and Mechwarrior Online. I am including my spec below in case that helps with your parts pick.

AMD A10-5700
Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI
8GB RAM
2TB Seagate Momentus XT
600w Corsair PSU
Sapphire Radeon 7870 2GB (full hight, 2 slot cooler)
Coolermaster Elite 130 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119286&cm_re=cooler_master_130-_-11-119-286-_-Product
Coolermaster H60 Water Cooler (the Seidon is the closest that Newegg has to this) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103195&cm_re=cooler_master_CPU_cooler-_-35-103-195-_-Product
Akasa fan speed controller

One really good feature of the case I use is it allows me to use standard parts for the GPU and the PSU as the low hight versions are usually low capacity I count this a big plus. On the down side it leaves little space for a CPU cooler which is why I went for the water cooling loop (I had a low profile air cooler before that and it was just too loud unless you cut the fan speed right down). Since installing the cooling loop I am running the fans at full speed and it is still the quietest PC I have ever built.

Also the hybrid hdd has turned out to be the most effective upgrade I have ever fitted. My Windows 10 boot times are down from more than 30 seconds to less than 2 seconds. One last tip is that if you decide to go this rout you had best go for a fully modular PSU. While you can use a standard PSU with this case, space is tight for routing all those cables and you can forget about fitting an internal DVD/BDROM as you will need the space for excess wiring from the PSU.

thanks for the idea's Bullet,
after some thought and reading over the others I'm think I'll take a loss on the case.

and go with something like this http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nThTRB
I'll upgrade the ram and add an gpu later down the road.
the Gigabyte board reviews scared me away fyi

That build looks pretty good. The only problem I see is that the ram will not be able to be upgraded Because ITX boards only have two slots.
