This seems like a good combination between the Star Wars Episode 4 scene in the deathstar trench, Hawken, and all the things I loved in Homeworld 2 and the old Star Wars Battlefront games. (May the force be with you, Lucasoft.)
It'll be on early access on Steam in January 2014. So let's try to get our beta keys ASAP. Anyways Tek fanatics, hardware enthusiasts and hardcore gamers, why don't we try to make a TekSyndicate clan/guild in this game? I think it would be an epic way to get people to the website. Heck, we might even be able to take on other online communities (anyone want to have a TekSyndicate versus LinusTechTips guild match?)...
Anyways, have fun with this guys. Oh, and one more thing: my condolences for any social life you had before reading this. May it rest in Sovngarde. =P
Well, Strike Vector is more of a battlefield-style of game. Think of Hawken, Battlefield 4, Counter Strike, and that sort of thing. This is just a quick game of skill that might last minutes, if that.
Star Citizen is pretty much Skyrim in an MMO form factor, in space, with mod support dependent on your server. (You can't exactly create a modded weapon capable of destroying stars, and port it onto a stable MMO.)
So, yeah, Star Citizen is open-world, and all that goodness. But I think that Strike Vector is going to be something I'm going to enjoy when I just want a quick battle of wit and skill, instead of spending hours and hours.
I think Strike Vector is going to be a heck of a lot of fun. I like the idea of an FPS game in full-fledged 3D space. If there's zero gravity added as well, it'll be much more complex, interesting, and could really make for one of the most interesting concepts I've seen in a while (along with Homeworld's original fully-3D RTS style of gameplay, which allow me to attack from above or below and confuse the heck out of other players who didn't understand that mechanic well at the time).
I mean don't get me wrong it looks awesome but star citizen is more for me,why?
Because i like to explore and star citizen is the only game that provides something like this, and i always wanted something similar to star trek. However the game is still in pre-alpha and lags like hell, so that means i need to upgrade my system which will be pain in the ass till the game launches in 2015.
But the good thing is i got time, and will probably spending some time playing this game till 2015.. :D
How about we form the guild/clan in Strike Vector called the Tek Collective in the meantime? (Like the Borg collective in Star Trek.)
"Stop it!" - Sincerely, the Ministry of STOP IT!
Or maybe we could say "Resistance is futile, console peasants. You will be assimilated into the PC Master Race." (Oh gawd, I think I just Shatner'd ever humor bone in my body with that last one.)
Yep. I signed up, and I will be getting my Beta Steam key. Imma happeh camper now. (Speakin' of which, when Imma campin' 'n snipin', don't get mad, yoz. Playaz gonna play, haterz gonna hate. =P )
Sure. My username on the Tek is rsilverblood. My Steam username is rsilverblood.
So, go add me and we'll play together. (Note: for VoIP, I prefer using XFire, Skype or something else. I dislike Skype, but I despise using Steam for VoIP. I've got a Razer Comm account, and I'm willing to try TeamSpeak or Ventrillo if someone has a server for that.)
I'll add you shortly. My steam username is Dr. Trefusis, just so you're not completely confused as to who the hell is trying to add you. As for VoIP, I'm not too picky, but I absolutely HATE skype. Definitely willing to give xfire a shot.
