Strictly Streaming; 8350 or Spare Intel Rig

So I'm very satisfied with my FX 6300 but feel that when an 8350 goes on sale, I'm for sure picking up one. Now with that said, I want to know if that CPU would be fine for 1080p streaming, or if I should invest in a 3770k or equiv. Haswell i5/i7 strictly streaming rig that CAN also edit and render footage in CS6 if need be.

I would be on a budget and don't want to spend more than 700 if I go a secondary PC route. My backup rig has a Phenom X3 8650 and Radeon 6870 with 6GB of DDR2

 Thanks guys

For pure streaming and rendering a FX8350 is realy a decent choice.

Intel does have quicksync but a very popular Tek Syndicate streamer has a dual core Pentium and he tells me that it works perfectly especially if you watch his stream.

I second the 8350. Push a Good Overclock on it maybe around 4.6 to 4.8ghz your streaming performance will be impeccable.

You might also want to try the Fx 9370 or Xeon E3 1230 V3

9370 is just a binned/overclocked 8350/8320 though. it does not warrant the $50+ increase over the 8350

with the upcoming 8370, i bet the 8350 gets dropped by maybe $20 to $150ish (ugh.... AMD..... get your shit together..... they keep releasing 8320/8350 bin/overclock CPUs... they already have the 9370/9590, now they are getting an 8370 which is an 8350 with a 100Mhz overclock.)

assuming your motherboard is compatible, i would just go with that, rather then a whole new board and a whole new cpu.

also, i think the 8320 will be dropping to $130-140 at the same time. that is always viable, then overclock.

plus, the 6300 is still a good chip. had my cousin get one earlier this year. you could sell/give it to a friend/family member. or sell it on ebay or something.

Intel's hd series has quick sync, nvidia gpus have shadowplay, and amd gpus have VCE. you can use those to stream instead of the cpu, it has less of a hit on frame rate. The quality will be slightly worse than if you were using the cpu though.

If you live near a microcenter the 8320 is $160 there, dunno about other places

I live in Canada, so no Microcenter

My current mobo is a ASUS M5A99X Evo 2.0, so I'm pretty sure that 8370 would be fine.

I might just pick up two more sticks of ram and use the 6300 in my backup rig and just get an external HDMI capture card.

Thanks guys!
