I´m looking into streaming on Twitch, and therefore I will go a bit balls deep and build a new PC specifically for streaming and most likely editing on the side. The focus though is on streaming. I have searched a bit on the interwebs, and came to a conslusion that I will base my build on AMD´s 8350.
I already have a Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 from my current build, but I will upgrade this on to a 750D from Corsair, so I thought I could reuse the Fractal. Also pulling my 240GB Kingston SSD aswell, because of the upgrade to a Samsung SSD.
I don´t have any spesific budget, but reasonable price point, also I live in Norway where prices are a lot higher than in US. Just come with suggestions and we´ll come to agreements.
Thank you on forehand, and appreciating all suggestions.
DISCLAIMER: No pcpartpicker because he's Norwegian and I thought this would be easier for him. An intel i7 4770K is a much better idea, If you plan on overclocking use a H100i. Your motherboard could be an ASUS Maximus IV Formula, but don't get it if you don't want to go all out. You can reason with the MoBo. RAM, G.Skill Ripjaws X 8x2 will be nice. You need more than 8 gigs if you're editing and streaming. What the 8 gig dimms do is make 32 gig upgrades easy. For storage all you really need is a WD Blue 1TB drive. If you want more space, get a 2TB WD Black. GPU, a GTX 770 or a Radeon r9 280x will be great to run your games. The MoBo also supports SLI and Crossfire so you can run 2 GPUS. To wrap it up an EVGA NEX650 G should power this beast. The only problem is that this rig may be a bit expensive, but you should get good performance. Hope I helped :)
Get EXACTLY what is stated, except I would say a 750W PSU. A minimum of 600W is required for the 770. If you get the R9 280x, the PSU is 750. So at least get an 850W.
I´m not really going to game on this system, as I already have a pretty awesome gaming rig (i7, GTX 780). I want a PC specifically made for streaming in mind, and the capability to edit videos. So don´t bother about gaming optimized parts. Also the budget is now a bit tight, so more budget friendly parts.
Well, streaming can be very intensive, in most cases gaming parts are optimized for performance and you kind of should use an i7. This guy is a great streamer and this is his rig http://www.giantwaffle.tv/hardware. (Streaming PCs won't be so cheap...)
Pistol uses an AMD FX 8350 to stream and by the looks of it, It does a really good job. So get that.
Get a good overclocking motherboard like a Crosshair V Extreme from Asus
You'll need some water cooling so you can push a good overclock, if that's not possible, A noctua Nh D14 is good ( I have one :D)
16Gb of RAM or more, depending on your needs and the prices in Norway. But I think 16GB will get it done.
For the GPU, It depends on what games you will play. Some favor AMD, Some favor Nvidia. Do your research.
Case: Subjective, but I really like Phanteks Enthoo Pro, They're starting to make quite a bang in the value market.
Power Supply: Don't cheap out. Get something with enough watts for your GPU, a good 80+ rating and modularity. Here's a good tiered list of power supplies: http://community.newegg.com/eggxpert/computer_hardware/f/135081/t/45344.aspx
Get a reliable SSD and Hard drive. HDD: Seasonic, Western Digital or Hitachi (I heard Hitachis last a long time! Good SSDs: Kingston Hyper x, Kingston SSD now, Corsair Neutron, Samsung 840 pro, Adata Sp 900.
Okey, thanks for some input on an area which is totally unknown for me.
The list so far is:
AMD FX 8350 (because I saw a video on Tek Syndicate´s channel proving it is better for streaming, than the former 3770k. Also it is cheaper than the 4770k).
ASUS M5A99FX Pro Rev. 2 (cheap and also in Pistol´s rig)
