Stream Game from pc to pc

Let's say,I have a gaming pc on another room, and I want to play my games in my living room with a tv.

I have another pc connected to it (an 4 year old pc that plays half life 1 at 11fps at 1280x720)

Can I use this PC to stream game from my gaming pc to the tv?

Any idea?

it is possible but its not worth it..... why

that a lot of setup

it just ez to move the game pc in the room with the tv

If possible then how?

I would try but for now I want to learn that too :D

just star with networking that is a good starting point.

here you go http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6gx4Cwl9DGBpuvPW0aHa7mKdn_k9SPKO

Or buy wireless x360 controller, start up steam in full screen mode, and get 10meter hdmi cabel to connect it with tv in other room, and you can cotroll your pc with that wireless controller.

10m isn't long enough I think..

Alternative is to get an HDMI to Ethernet (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812228012&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Pro+A%2fV+Extender+%26+Repeater-_-N82E16812228012&gclid=CJ-S_6SnvLoCFejm7AodSWUA5A)

Then get some good Cat6 or Cat6a cable and run it through that, just remember there's a maximum distance of 100 meters for ethernet cabling. That would be the easiest way to run the cable. T

I have no answer to your original question though.

Just out of curiosity, would that work with a homeplug/powerline adapter?

Could it? I'm sure it could, would it work as intended, well we get into a grey area there. I used a similar device to that one shown to run a ~250 foot stretch to connect my churches projector to the computer controlling the program and it runs fabulously at 1080p with no signal distortion using Cat6, cat 5e didn't cut it though.

With that said, again, I believe it would work fine but there's no way to be sure.

HelloMrOwl : Thanks! Just checked out the link. Mindblown. Can't believe some manufacturer actually do that haha

This is something that I do with my phone and laptop. Its very much possible but do realise that if your on wireless, latency can be an issue.

I have never used this software but its been around for years and has matured.

What I use mostly because of their android support. Their PC to PC streaming is poor but it should improve once they are on steam.

Interesting stuff. I was looking to do a similar thing, but I might just wait it out and see how streaming on Steam OS turns out and perhaps stick it on an old system
