i just notice today i have a weird noise coming from my case. Even stranger than that, it has something to do with my logitech g700 mouse scroll button. Its real soft but there and only happens as i scroll up or down. I am stumped. Made sure the drivers where updated but for the life i me i cant determine ifs it something serious or not.
Coil whine from your GPU perhaps? Because when you use your scroll wheel, you're most likely rendering a new part of a webpage or something.
Yes i have seen reference to that .I just lowered my mouse dpi settings and seems to have stopped for now. I will have to open the case up and test to see if its coil whine in the gpu. I have used it for awhile now maybe a new cord or a new mouse .Gpu coil whine can be controlled by throttling the fps , correct?
Its other wise coil wine from the gpu or the psu has a slight wining noise. Most likely a capacitor.
Yup, your right gpu coil whine. Not sure if this could be a serious issue or not. If i set it back on floor where it normally is i cant hear it. I guess its a wait and see if it gets worst kind of thing . Then get new gpu :)
If you want to be sure it's your GPU, just boot without it and see if it still whines.
If its GPU coil whine, then you dont have a problem. Its harmless. A lot of GPUs whine like that. just an annoyance, is all.
Cool , thanks for the help. I have heard coil whine before but it was much more pronounced than this. If this wasnt sitting right next to my head i wouldnt even hear it.
