Strange thing with Raid x570

I did my first raid 0 on a new system x570. OS on two 1 TB Samsung evo’s. I had a couple 250gb evo’s laying around and I thought I would raid those as well. My bios kept freezing though when trying to do the 250’s in raid. I called Asus and they said I would need to purchase a pci-e raid card. That’s when I noticed in windows that there was no 250gb… only a 500gb… Can anyone explain this to me?

  1. Do not use onboard hardware RAID
  2. Do not use software RAID on Win-OS (any version!)

Install Linux on a 250GB EVO, use the 1TB disks for data storage (Win-OS as virtual machine). Use the Linux RAID tool (mdadm) via Webmin to install the remaining disks as their RAID counterparts (RAID1, both).

HTH!

I setup raid in bios. It’s weird that I got two different raid 0 on my system. Asus couldn’t explain why.
