So yesterday I turn my pc on after some windows updates over night. I noticed all my aero effects were off. I tried restarts and the windows troubleshooter (which has worked in the past) to fix it, nothing. I eventually figured it out via (msconfig and doing a “normal startup”) But then I noticed my wireless connection was lost. It showed the blank bars to appear as having no connection but when I looked it the actual networks it said I have limited connectivity and my internet was working fine. (note: I use a small usb wireless adapter) I went to Network and Sharing Center and it said “Dependency service or group failed to start”. I went to services and everything concerning WLAN was on automatic and started.
As of now my internet works fine, as well as network, but it remains with that error.
Almost sounds like the some of the discrete drivers of your system were lost. Typically, Aero doesn't work unless you have graphics drivers installed (experience: my laptop's graphics, wireless, and synaptics drivers are on Windows 8, but not Windows 7, which I figured out after installing), so it might be worth trying to update. As for the wireless card, that sounds odd, not a typical missing driver. I would try updating if you're still worried about that (sounds like it fixed itself?), but all that is just speculation.
