Strange FX8350 behaviour + OCing advice wanted!

i had a Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0 with a FX8320 it never liked to boot with all 4 slots populated running @ 1866mhz but @1600mhz it was fine amd chip's can be picky with ram.

I don't have a new FX chip but I have just recently fixed a problem I had.

I recently finished a machine with a Phenom X4 955 BE in it. I can render vids GREAT on this machine and overclock a little bit. Not terribly much, which I'm not fond about, but the unleashing mode on my board makes up for it.

Anywho if I am in an OS and try to properly shutdown and reboot the machine defaults to the onboard integrated graphics instead of my nice R7 card. This is a nuisance, obviously, as I have to open the case, unscrew the card, unseat the card, boot the machine for a few seconds, turn the machine off, put the card back in, and then it detects the card.

This was remedied with a Bios reflash through the Asus EZ Flash. If you have an Asus board you're in luck. If not I'm sure there is a utility or that you could do it through windows.

I personally run linux so most of this stuff isn't an issue to me :P

Definitely update that BIOS. Usually Gigabyte and AMD go well together.
