Finishing up my 3975WX build and checking read / write speeds.
Bifurcated PCI lane 7 on the Gigabyte WRX80 MOBO and added the 4 x m.2 AIC by Gigabyte using 4 x Samsung PRO 980 1TB m.2s.
Did two setups - one using Storage Spaces (striped)
A second using Disk Management | Striped
Half to third speed using Storage Spaces? Really? Those meatballs aren’ts spicy… 
Storage spaces was not built for speed. At all
They figure your bottlenecked by network speed and don’t optimize
Can we find the team who wrote the code and deny them chicken wings?
Curious though - the Samsung 980 PRO drives are rated at 7k / 5k read / write. Simple math
4 x 5k = 20k
Account for some overhead and it shouldn’t be anywhere near 10k. Hmmm… 
Hmmm… so dropped the m.2 AIC in a TRX40 Designare running a 3960X and got these results…
head scratcher I’ve seen much better numbers elsewhere… maybe I’m a noob?
