I would look at what models custom PC build companies use, as they will have done a lot of the RnD for you.
I would ask if it is going in a machine room / garage or within earshot of normal work / life.
Supermicro are very very loud, even the quiet versions, but niot as loud as some UPS if you have that running as well.
Bit dated heavy duty brute force fast fans.
There is one new case that has 8 slots by In-Win worth considering. IW400N I think
I have just switched from Supermicro CSE747 to Fractal Meshify2XL and really loving having a silent workstation.
But it is a workstation not a server.
Though really doesn’t seem to be any advantage to the immense new costs of the server hardware when it comes to cases.
What about inter-tech 4F28. Does it have to be hot swappable?
