This question is actually deeper than it appears on the surface.
Physically SAS drives will plug in just fine into the drive connectors on the Jonsbo backplane. The SAS drives will also run just fine with a single link that the backplane provides (remember SAS can be dual link to double the bandwidth or add connection redundancy).
I wouldn’t expect the Jonsbo backplane to be able to handle SAS-4 from a signal integrity standpoint though, which is faster than PCIe 4.0, however you are unlikely to be running any SAS4 SSDs in these bays to I don’t think this is a realistic scenario.
FWIW I’m running a bunch of SAS drives just fine through an N3’s backplane.
