Stolen data sold for 50,000

MediSecure data of almost 13 million Australians has already been sold for 50,000 aud,

then apparently re sold for 25,000 lol…maybe worth looking into…stevo… :face_with_peeking_eye:

If that was a joke, I missed it, but a quick search says 27 million. Which is lower than I would have guessed.

lol…no joke it happened 2 weeks ago…half the countrys medical data…was found on the dark web for sale…

I wish when stuff like this happened, and an investigation found it was not the fault of a 0-day attack on the network infrastructure, that all the people in management at the company would simply go to prison. They have to comply with the laws regarding the securing of medical records and data, and when they don’t take things like cybersecurity seriously because it isn’t “real security” then they should be held responsible. A few examples made with actually harsh punishment and all the companies would suddenly start taking cyber security seriously.
