Stefan Molyneux is a libertarian who hosts his show, podcasts, and does regular and long videos on different subjects. I'd just like to hear what you guys think. I don't agree with him on many topics, but he can be very eloquent in pointing out certain things.
Stefan Molyneux is a complete fucking misogynist. He spews hateful shit like this, and calls it philosophy.
"There's a weird thing if you're a guy. If you're a guy, you don't get paid for having a dick. Fortunately. God, do you want to be that kind of person? Be a vagina parasite that inhales wallets up her cooch without even crouching. Some sort of reverse vacuum cleaner that hoovers coins out of penises. That's not what you want, right? You don't want to be that."
That's a direct quite taken from this show. Fuck Stefan Molyneux. He's a piece of shit, and anyone that considers his bigoted ramblings philosophy is a fucking moron.
Your quote isn't a true direct quote, because it's part of a conversation and you omitted the other side. You've also removed all context, removing the true message behind the quote.
So the "true message" the messiah is giving isn't all women are whores?
The context is simple. A caller is going to school for chemical engineering, isn't interested in that, and feels compelled to do so to support his mother or some shit. This sets Stefbot on a misogynistic rant, in which he says all women are prostitutes, and no men are prostitutes.
What a terrific message from the messiah! Women are fucking whores, and men are awesome! Yay mens rights! Yay philosophy! herp de fucking derp!!!
That's your interpretation of what he said, not what he said. You're more interested in knee-jerking over the style of his message. I'm not sure how much of Stef's videos you've watched, but I've seen him give equal criticism to both men and women. He talks against feminism a lot because much of the movement is intertwined with statism, which he is obviously against.
Is exactly what he said during the first quarter of that video, and certainly not the only atrocious thing he said in it.
I'm very familiar with Stefan Molyneux. Until fairly recently, like six months ago or so, I listened to pretty much every call in show he did, and watched many of his videos. I had been a listener for probably close to three years. He talks a good game on non violence, but his increasing misogyny turned me off, and I no longer listen to him, no longer consider him a good source of information, and I consider it my responsibility to do whatever it takes to end his show, because of the vile putrid hatred shit he spews against women.
Let's say he is a misogynist and hates all women. You say he talks a good game on non-violence and, to me, is obviously a great introduction to anarchy. The way you come across is as if he's promoting evil. Do you wish to end the shows of every other youtuber out there that promotes something you disagree with?
Back to the misogyny charge though, do you have any examples of him hating on women for being women? The example you used is him criticising a behaviour, often employed by women (and sometimes by men, which he has also criticised).
It's not about women, it's about women who use men. I could turn the question on you.:
Can you not read? (not an argument, it's really just rude) Where does that quote (and please include the context, it matters) explicitly put all women as the subject?
If you include the context of the quote you gave, it becomes clear he is talking about 2 women that are using a man and then the condemnation of that behaviour. It's not the fact that they have vaginas, it's that they use them as an excuse to justify poor behaviour.
"There's a weird thing if you're a guy. (if you're not a woman) If you're a guy, you don't get paid for having a dick (if you're a woman, you get paid for having a vagina). Fortunately. God, do you want to be that kind of person? Be a vagina parasite that inhales wallets up her cooch without even crouching. Some sort of reverse vacuum cleaner that hoovers coins out of penises. That's not what you want, right? You don't want to be that. (you don't want to be a woman, because women are vagina parasites that inhale wallets up their cooches. They are some sort of reverse vacuum cleaners that hoover coins out of penises)"
Stefan Molyneux is polarising. Sometimes I think he is right, sometimes he is wrong. I don't believe he is a misogynist. I think you've really distorted that particular video to manufacture that idea.
lol yeah, "if you're a guy you don't get paid for having a dick", or otherwise said, "if you're a woman you get paid for having a vagina", totally not misogynist at all. I'm just a propagandist manufacturing false claims of misogyny where there isn't the slightest hint of it.
Men have the choice to do that - nowhere does it say you MUST buy the hot chick free drinks. Besides, if the particular girl was like that I wouldn't be interested.
Stefan is part of a larger movement. And this topic has nothing with that movement, the politics behind technology, tech itself Nor is it productive to the point of net neutrality. It is easily derailed due to those affiliations and can only serve to draw huge divide lines within the tek....Nothing against the OP, But I feel this content is inappropriate for the tek because it is so far out of line with the tek's goals. Inevitably, This will lead to a flame war due to it's underlying nature. I think there is a time to have mens/womens rights issues talks, but I think the tek is not the place to have it.
I think it's entirely appropriate to show people the truth about Stefan Molyneux when people post his videos. He presents himself as a great philosophical thinker and intellectual, but in reality he's just a hatred spewing bigot who generalizes, over simplifies, and makes extremely lazy arguments.
I understand what you're saying, Resistor. I'm not his biggest fan, but I cannot stop watching his videos. I like to hear the other side. He's an ideologue. Despite that, I think he's probably a good father, and a good person.
Like I said earlier; sometimes I think he can make a good argument, and I might agree with him. Other times, he doesn't make a coherent argument; where it is just factually wrong, or he uses an analogy that doesn't fit. I do get frustrated with the fanboys that won't disagree with him on anything.
I'm with ProSonicLive on this one. It's a battle of ideology, not a discussion about net neutrality.
