Anybody here use the SS Apex or Apex [RAW] keyboards? Hoe are they like?Any feedback?
I know it's a membrane KB and not a mechanical one.
I've used one before, the keys are very low profile so actuation time to the membrane is quite similar to a mechanical KB. Though it doesn't feel as good, it's quite a great little keyboard, i'd say one of the best membrane keyboards out there. Top 3 i've ever seen were the Logitech Illuminated(best for the value), Steelseries Apex(very good, lil pricey), and Razer Deathstalker(top notch membrane, best i've seen, very pricey).
Though mechanical keyboards are more of a fanboy thing, i know they are better than membrane but not THAT much better. I like my ducky keyboard but i bought it because i wanted a mechanical, not because of how much productivity or performance i get out of gaming or working. A membrane keyboard can do everything quite similarly...sometimes membrane keys can be an advantage on work environments because they can have crazy amounts of macro keys for WAY less than the equivalent mechanical.
Yea,i was contemplating on getting the SS [RAW] keyboard over the weekend. I've used mechanical keyboards before but i didn't really like them. I was looking at the Deathstalker.Looks very...gaudy.I like the understated looks of the Apex Raw.I know this is a base method of judging a keyboard.Can't help it,unfortunately.
By the way,just before i get it,is it possible to program the letter keys around WASD as macro keys on the apex? Will be playing MMOs quite a bit.Want to know before i make the purchase
