this is a freaking ubuntu steam bug that is already know.....but not fixed. How kind of cononical.
Honestly if you are not using an AMD card, just install something else.
Ubuntu 15 is such a giant steaming pile of turd that even linux mint is still on ubuntu 14 JUST to avoid the freaking problems.
If you are using an amd card, here is a work around for the bug
Just read your other post
https://software.opensuse.org/developer/en?release=developer
There. Just solved all your problems.
make sure you download and use suse studio image writer on ubuntu to make your boot drive.
This is not a live CD and the installed is a little more technical.
The install will see all of your hard drives and try to install itself everywhere. You need to click change partition setup and just manually select the one single drive you want to use.
Its not a big deal, you just need to keep an eye out for it.
I'd actually recommend Fedora 22 Workstation over Ubuntu 15.
Yeah no.
Tried it, installed fedy. Got fed up with fedy.
I think fedora is better maintained, and I like DNF a little more than zypper.
But nothing beats 1 click install and zypper.
When fedora gets its head out of its ass and becomes more friendly to closed source software, give me a call.
Until then Opensuse is far less of a headache to use.
