Hello!
Id like to use steam streaming from my main rig to play games on my TV in another room.
ID build some kind of mini pc for this, but am wondering is it even possible to acheive things like 4K @ 120 htz / HDR via steam streaming?
With steamlink, in Short no. Your best bet is moonlight when using an Nvidia.
When you Game on an amd Card the stream Option from amd itselfe works very well
thanks, I didnt know about moonlight. Seems lik a great solution.
You could try Parsec’s paid options for HDR streaming.
I was looking at this too. What if you have a 10Gb computer to computer connection? Perhaps less the HDR part.
You could take up bitrate of the of the streaming. Since you already set the resolution to 4K and framerate to 120fps the only parameter you can change is bitrate. But there’s a limit to it, the hardware encoder you decide to use to stream the video feed. If you overwhelm it you’re gonna see stuttering.
Still the recommended software, also by me, is Moonlight if you’re using an Nvidia GPU.
With the bitrate limit, how would one know if they are getting full 4k?
It’s just a matter of selecting 4K in the Moonlight client. Once you do the program sets you PC resolution to 4K for you and streams it. You’re not relying on online shady softwares you have no control over. It’s free too so just try it and see if you like it!
