Steam giftcards now at Gamestop

Just got the news on steam today and they now sell money cards at Gamestop YAYYYYYYYY

Niicee

Cool. I guess. Why, though? What PC Gamer would go to gamestop?

I always use paypal on steam. But some times paypal can give problems. Nothing serious, but I think I'll just add funds to my wallet this way and not have to worry about that kind of stuff when a good deal shows up on steam.

finally a way to actually spend useless store credit

This sort of thing will keep stores like Gamestop in buisness.

With pre owned/traded in games soon coming to an end, there will be very few chains of these sorts of stores left.

Although, I dont know why anyone would buy steam credit from the store... but I spose young people will (my brother goes to the local shop to get credit for this stupid Maplestory game) And I think many console users are starting to move to Steam. Who are all very young, these will be the sorts of people that do (specially with store credit)

the gamestop where i live has 1 small shelf of pc games. but the funny thing is the whole store is decorated with diablo 3 stuff lol.

well put sir well put

well put sir well put

i will definately be doing this. id rather support valve than visa or paypal any day.

I play maplestory myself

Haha, no doubt its an alright game in its own right. But from an outside perspective, when I see him playing it I just laugh, it looks like a kids game.

Bear in mind I am someone who doesnt liek them types of games so find it hard to understand them, I like driving sims and fps games :p

Although I may give Guild Wars a go.

Guild Wars is pretty fun to play. What driving sims do you like?

Guild Wars entertained me for a long time, it's like a MTG style MMO as opposed to D&D style. Guild Wars 2 (after some tweaking) looks to be quite addictive too.

On topic, I wondered how serious the big companies were about stopping gamestop and eb games, this might be a sign that gamestop considers the threat very serious indeed.

They should totally get it at Walmart so I don't have to drive more than 500 feet...

lol, i think so too. but gamestop is right next to walmart for me :P

Won't they charge you tax for them? What's the point?

I think steam should make a chain of stores themselves lol

well the same could be said about microsoft points, but walmart sells them like hotcakes. but the more important question is why would anyone go for xbox? lol

What I meant is what's the point in buying them if they are going to end up costing more?
