So I installed windows 10 and now when I go to launch any games from Steam It launches the game and then just crashed, Steam says im playing the game and then just goes back to online.I can play games like BF4 that use origin,I have reinstalled vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64 but this did nothing.
Are you on 10 home or pro because I've heard those on home are having some compatibility issues.
You could always try running the games in compatibility mode for windows 8 or 7 and see if that helps.
Im on Pro, will try changing the compatibility.I upgraded from 7 to 10 Btw
We need more information. Go in to event viewer and under applications look for the moments you tried to launch the games. Google the error messages.
You upgraded rather than clean install? If so that could be the problem. Clean install is better you don't have all the leftover crap from when you pc was windows 7(old registry entries, config files)
What games are you trying to run?
Run a steam/game repair/file verification.
reinstall steam, be sure to save the games folder beforehand else you have to reinstall the games as well, probably find a guide online.
be sure everything is updated, windows updates, driver updates.
run ccleaner use the registry tool.
have you updated your nvida drivers?
as far as I know you DO have to reinstall steam, but hopefully without flushing all game content and date.............like it used to be. Not sure even if this works. I enjoy playing not fucking around, therefore I am sticking to seven pro, and am now under attack to upgrade (if it is really an upgrade, or a hostile take-over).
I did not have to reinstall steam for my upgrade but mine was from 7 to 10, I actually had no issues besides it fucking up grub, the actual windows update had no problems at all for me. all of my programs work no reinstall of them needed, same for my room mates pc.
I just did a fresh install and deleted all windows 7 stuff and now it works fine
Good to hear! I was about to chime in. I haven't had the problem. On BF4 though. It won't run in Chrome any more. You can't use Edge, and it has to use ugh. IE.
Yuck... Guess I won't be installing bf4 if I upgrade to 10 then...
That's a shame...
Well this is more of a long time coming. The work around for Chrome in 8.1 and below was going to disappear eventually.
