Steam for linux

Hello guys, I want to ask if Steam for Linux is now available to use for gaming or are they still testing it out.

they are on open beta now

does that mean that if i want linux as my OS, i can just use steam like in windows?

Not many games work nativally in linux quite yet. Do a dual boot

but i will just most probably play TF2 or maybe something else, but mainly TF2

I think TF2 might work in linux nateivally, haven't tried it yet

i think i saw a list of games steam tested and validated and i think that TF2 is inside, but whatever, i will take the risk to save the few dollars.

Don't know if you are still intrested or that you need this but this is the list of games that runs on Linux. >>Link to Steam List<< or >>Featured Linux Games<<

Anyone tried these games out? How are they running? Same as on windows?

TF2 is running well, but some games are running very bad. I had around 20 FPS in Serious Sam everything at minimum, using a good computer. There's still some optimization to do.

Also many games that are available on Steam and have linux versions haven't uploaded their linux verions to the steam store.
