Steam Fatal Error - **Fixed**

Right well let me unplug my drives and stuff to maybe get into my damned bios. -_- I don't wanna reset the cmos because I like my overclock lol

What version of windows are you running? I know windows 8/10 can be booted into safe mode by holding shift then clicking restart. Hold shift until you're presented with the boot options menu.

I've got it, deleting that other thread-o-mine in a sec. Booted into safe with networking via Win+r, msconfig - boot, safe mode, networking. No fix.

speaking of which, how do you delete a thread? Or can you i guess....?

I'll rack my brain for a few more possible solutions. In the meantime, try double checking this list for any incompatible software that the beta may hate that the full release was okay with.

None of those are running in this safe mode with networking. All I've got is this

Hmm, it looks like your internet connection is down, but it definitely isn't. Are you running it in a VM by any chance? Do you have multiple NICs?

If we can just get me to opt out of the beta, I think I'd be fine. I don't know how to do that besides launcher options with the -clearbeta on the end though... see the error i get when i ran it this time

No and No, physical machine here, on my fourth monitor, but my 3 1080p displays are off because of safemode and no Nvidia garbage is running. Idk why it shows network isn't working when it clearly is lol.

If you'd like, I can try playing around with it through remote desktop. Definitely your call, as you probably shouldn't trust strangers on the internet.

well I have nothing better to try lol, and here's a screenshot of my connections working. Disregard the bottom one, it's the vpn for Cyberghost, it's not active at the moment tho

Try disabling the network adapter for CyberGhost, and disabling IPv6 on both.

How do you only disable IPv6? I have the second disabled for now

Right well look at this...

Instructions are below.

Huh, that's really odd. Reinstall network adapters or try running the network repair utility at bleeping-computer?

Okay, I see how i would've done it, but yeah with this just networking thing I don;t know if it will use all of the Killer NIC stuff..? Maybe that's the issue.

Have you tried running steam since disabling the CyberGhost adapter? I'd try that before we proceed.

Yup. Nope.
