Static when recording as well as a new wireless headset "snow" problem

Hey guys,I have Plantronics 380 while using a dolby 5.1 usb soundcard to make the volume louder so people can actually hear me and I get a bit of static issues while recording.

Now recently at PAX AUS I won a Corsair H2100 wireless headset but whenever I plug it in I get static/snow sounding interference and I have no idea on how to solve it while using corsairs software.

They've told me to send it in as they think it could be a defective product but I'm doubtful. But if I got a replacement and the same issue occurs I don't think I would be able to sell the headset on something like Ebay.

Any ideas? I would prefer my first issue to be solved first before the corsair if possible thanks

It might be an earth issue?  Does it get worse when you move your mouse and drag windows around the screen ect?

I had the same problem with my system untill i got a usb isolator.

Here is the thread relateing to my earth/ ground issue.

Do you mean to say if my computer is on the ground? Cos its on a table about a metre high. I don't think it gets worse for my PC when I move my mouse around. with the 380 I mean

Plug it into something else like a phone

Theres no static when listening on the phone either, its not when listening really, its when I record with the mic it seems to just have a little static on it... Because you are using different headsets would you still be able to hear it if I sent a recorded test to show you what I mean?

Dont use the dongle ? Static can be cause by many issues but in your case it sounds like something is being set (amped) up to high

The problem is if I don't use the dongle the mic is extremely soft, i have no idea how i can make it work at least to a hearable level. This is when i plug into the motherboard sound card anyway which i believe is using realtek if you know anything about that maybe you could give me some instructions? Oh yeah if i do turn on microphone boost to 10-20+ in the control panel/sound the noise still happens.

EDIT: I think ive been misnaming my problem. I think the problem is White noise a friend informed me
