I just bought the game today because I saw it for $10 at Gamestop. I installed it and downloaded the latest patches. The game crashes before I can even take control of my character. I've tried playing it 5 times and it keeps crashing before I can leave the house. I remember Logan and other people saying the game was buggy and shit, but I did not think it was this bad. Because I bought it at Gamestop I cannot get a full refund. God damn it.
Hmm... For some reason I think I had the game on this pc before.. I just.. can't remember it..
Gotta try it sometime...
Get rid of it...that game is horrible even if you don't bring the bugs into the picture.
keep trying i have the game through steam and its the best game ive played ae, great atmosphere
Don't listen to MojarHarrison72, the game is great, just make sure to get the latest patches. Well it's great if you like Open World RPGs.
i have my copy up to date but none of the text displays. i cant get past the first conversation.
theres probably a solution... i just have been to lazy to look.
Hey, I bought CS about 2 months ago hoping that it would run smoothly on my PC - like SoC. But it runs at about 15fps no matter what setting adjustments I use.
I have an ATI 3870, Quad-core Q6600, and 2GB of DDDR2 RAM.Â
any recommendations?
Mhh, it should run way better than this. Did you patch it up?
Yep. And when that didn't help I tried some user-created patches, but still with no success. I'm betting it's my video card though I don't understand, I mean the original game was pretty buggy but it atleast ran better than Crysis. This one, not so much.
ive got the russian version of the game, patch 5 works the best for me. anything above will crash if i use dx10
id suggest u start from a older patch and work your way up until the bugs are fixd
Yeah it's the video card. ATI's drivers are not up to par with the game. I'm not a fanboy I'm just saying the game was made for nvidia based gpu's. It's not fair man I LOVE the stalker series and want you to enjoy your time playing it. :( I wish 2 things, the first thing, ATI would start releasing quality drivers in a timely manner, and 2 devs would stop creating games based off of ONE card maker. I may have Nvidia but I still think it's shit that most games are made solely with Nvidia in mind. I really hope you an find a fix for your problem man, I love the stalker games.... :(
Nividia throws cash at game developers as well as a development tools. Ati just needs to get more active in the software side of things.
Well I've overclocked my card and The Witcher seems to run great on it. I plan on installing it again today and patch the hell out of it. I enjoy foreign games but I suppose nVidia has principality over those counties since it's much bigger than ATI. This will be my last attempted before getting a new card.Have any of you played it on a 4870 or 4850??feed back would be great.
I Got it off steam ae it works great it patches up automaticly
