Sshd not showing up in bios

hey. i was wondering if someone could help me.so i just finished building my first gaming PC and everything went perfect until i entered the bios and saw that under boot drive options my sshd was not there, so i decided to use Linux Ubuntu on my flash drive without installing the OS and my sshd didn't show up anywhere. i also checked the partitions and only my flash drive shows up, i know that my seagate 1tb sshd works because i can hear it moving i checked all the sata connections and everything is plugged up well.if someone could help me i would really appreciate it since i'm a noob when it comes to these kind of things thank you.

Is the drive new, or was it in another system?

it's new right out of the box.

I'm just grasping at straws here. The sound of the drive; I trust there is no clicking?

none at all.

Right, I was [just] wondering if the drive was faulty? Obviously not. Hmm..... 'maybe' a Bios update is needed? I hope that othres will chime in?!
Do you know the make and model of both the sshd & motherboard?

Try changing the SATA mode in your bios. Ideally you want it set to AHCI but you might have to try RAID or IDE (or whatever the other options are)

Return the drive and get a replacement would be what I'd suggest. Sounds like the drive is DOA.

A buddy of mine has one of the WD SSHDs and it requires some sort of driver to use. His can't actually be used on a Linux distro, it's Windows only. This could be the case. I could be completely wrong, though.

i think it might,i guess i'll just get a replacement.

thanks for trying to help everyone, i appreciate it.
