SSD on a laptop

I have an HDD 512GB WD Blue,

I was wondering if i upgraded to an SSD would that increase my Battery life or not or so so

it's always been a mystery for me?

The difference wouldn't be huge but yes, SSD's draw less power overall. There are some that are not as efficient as others, so have a look at some reviews with figures on power before buying a specific drive.

Also in the sense of speed it will save you some precious battery life, with faster reads and writes the disk doesn't need to be active for so long.

In my 11" notebook, when I switched from a 320GB 5400RPM drive to a Samsung 830 there was no noticeable battery increase when using it to browse the internet or while using heavy load apps like photoshop.

Adding to what Baz said, you can get more done in the same amount of time as a result of the quicker read/write speeds, so battery life becomes less of an issue.

Thanks for the Info! :)  mkk, Baz & Zavarrr
