I want a ssd for less than $100. my priorities are not crashing and losing data, then speed, than storage. I'd like it to be at least 100gb. I've got three drives to chose from that I think I'll like and they are Samsung 120gb, ocz vertex 3 120gb, and crucial m4 128gb.
which one do you think I should buy?
Thanks in advance
The samsung 830/840 and the crucial M4 are some of the most reliable drives out there.
I would say go samsung as the make Eevrything in House including the Firmware, the only thing as reliable as a Samsung drive would be an Intel Drive, but for the most part SSD's are more reliable than HDD's anyway so just choose what you like.
I just saw this drive and noticed that is has 350 mb/s faster write than the samsung http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820239379 so should I get this one instead?
Depends, are you writing a lot of data? Most people get SSD's for reduced loading times, which is primarily read (particularly 4kb random read IOPS) and access time. Writes have very little to do with loading. Also, that Kingston is a SandForce drive, which means it relies on compression for performance. Compression particularly helps with writes, however not all data is compressible, and it's going to take a performance hit when it encounters incompressible data. Since the Samsung, Crucial and newer OCz drives don't use Sandforce controllers (Samsung, Marvell, and Indillenx repsectively) and don't rely on compression, their performance is more consistent.
I won't really be writing alot of data just the internet steam games and I don't like all the long load times cause I turn on and off my pc alot so shorter loading timer helps.
I'd go Samsung 840 120GB, followed closely by the M4. The 840 boasts remarkable read performance and is nothing short of impressive, especially at it's price range. The M4 isn't considered high performance, but it's reliability is tried and true and offers respectable performance.
Here is a review of the Samsung 840:

For comparison, keep a look out for the Plextor M5S, as it uses the same Marvell 9174 controller as well as the same 25nm Micron Flash, so the Plextor should post similar numbers as the M4.
