SSD&HDD problems with steam

how do i put all my steam games on my 1TB HDD i have steam on my SSD but i filled it up with games so i figured it will just place them in my 1TB HDD help please i also wanted my SSD to run only MY O.S files & my 1TB to hold Steam Origins games Gamestop PC games ect

ok, you sort of want your games / os to be on the ssd, and everything else on your hdd.but yeah, you can make a symbolic link to make steam think your games are in a folder which they are not :)

mklink /D "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<STEAM USERNAME>" "D:\my game folder"

then, just copy the files which would normaly be inside of the username folder to your new game folder.

just want steam origin gamestop games to be download on my 1TB i don't want them on my SSD thats for my windows 7 files

you would still use the above method, just your  mklink would be something like "mklink /D c:\steam_location c:\files_for_games"

and do the same for origin, not sure how the file structure works in origion, i dont use it... but it would be the same method. and im my oppionion, windows on hdd, and games on ssd makes more sense. only thing you get out of windows on your ssd is faster boot times. i would take faster game loading times over boot time.

i have no idea how to do that

you know what  nevermind i just copied the whole steam folder to my 1TB & their downloading on that now just have to get origin to do the same

Steam now allows you to intall games on other drives after you download them so that symbolic linking is no longer needed.
