Ssd boot drive help

Hey guys,  I'm working on a pc build and I know for sure I want my boot drive to be an ssd.  My question is if I will have a noticeable difference between the plextor m6e and an adata sp610? I know that thee is definitely a speed difference but is it worth twice as much for the m.2?

If Its twice the price I personally would go with two of the less expensive drive and put them together in raid 0 that way you will get twice the disk space and get a further performance boost from raid 0 it might not be as fast but I like to have storage available on c:

Well storage wouldn't be an issue. I'm using a 500gb ssd for purely games plus a mass storage hdd. Thanks for the idea tho!

I think the point that fitchx was trying to make  ... was that two regular SSDs in raid zero would be faster than the M.2 and cost the same.

Edit  ... it is just added bonus that you do not lose any drive real-estate.

M.2 is still largely, as far as I'm aware limited at SATA speeds; that is a max of around 550 read and write. As such do whatever saves you money if you really wanted a boot drive I would buy a respectable 120Gb or sub 120Gb drive as they are much cheaper and use it as a boot drive. The newer M.2 2280 like the m6e you listed are able to be faster but are insanely expensive and use up PCIe lanes.

To answer your question I don't think a m6e would be noticeable faster then a normal SSD you might even see it be slower as it has a lower read speed. Some of the other more expensive M.2 drives would be faster but even then you would only shave like a second off your boot time.
