SSD adapter/expansion tray

Hi,

I have a Fractal Define R4 that is an absolute pain for when I want to get at the SSDs mounted on the back of the motherboard tray as the SSDs get screwed in from the mobo side.

What I need is a adapter that can be mounted to the back of the mobo tray through the SSD holes and then allows the SSD to be mounted in the tray from the accessible side.

Similar to this 2.5-3.5" adapter with the ssd holes on the base but with the vertical parts closer to fit the SSD between.

Does anyone know where to find one?

Many thanks in advance for your help :)

As Arc Midi R2 owner, I fully understand what you mean...
The only solution to mount an SSD there is to make yourself a mounting bracket or something...
I have officially given up on using behind the mobo mounting location and am using the HDD trays...

Yeah it looks like that's the only solution, its pretty much impossible to find anything other than "2.5 to 3.5 inch adapters" when search for ssd mount, tray, extension etc. etc. I've taken out the drive cages and filled up the ssd mounts and 5.25" bays already so there's no where else to put them :/

Might be able to use something like this, but in the R4 it'd definitely require bending/cutting off the excess width as it'd interfere with the adjacent mounting location. It probably would be alright on the height.

Other than that it wouldn't be hard to design one myself - could give it a try!

You realize you can basically stick an SSD everywhere, right? No need even to screw it...
My ssd was on the top of the smaller HDD cage in the middle of the case, mounted with double sided tape.
You can just stick it behind the mobo and be done with it...

Just put double sided tape there and stick it anywhere on flat surface :)

meccano, but I agree with others, my SSD's are just sitting around in random places in the case.
I have an adapter that holds 2 but cant be bothered to install it

Yeah fair enough, that's probably the best way to do it.

Wish I'd have done that to begin with, now I've got to remove my water cooler and mobo :'(
