Sriracha Chocolate Chip Cookies

It happened.

I probably could have used more sriracha. It ended up being similar to the effect that @DeusQain mentioned, with the slight aftertaste, where in my case they tasted afterwards like I had eaten something hot a five or ten minutes ago, not that powerful. I thought I noticed a tiny hint of chili in there too, but it was hardly noticeable.

I based it off of a family recipe, which I'll put below. They ended up being fantastic - I even got my mom to try one, even though it has sriracha in it, and she said that I was surpassing her in cookiemaking skills. :D Sounds like something to go on a resume.

Props to @ryokeen for spiciness tips:

My version:

Sriracha Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Mix together:

  • 2 cups butter softened
  • 3/2 cups granulated sugar (1 + 1/2)
  • 3/2 cups brown sugar (1 + 1/2)
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp sriracha

Then:

  • 9/2 cups of flour (4 + 1/2)
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Bake at 375 for 9-11 minutes

(makes roughly 60 cookies)

Man those sound great. I love spiced chocolate tastes. I'll have to give this a go. Grats on surpassing mom level cooking!

lol thanks :D

Glad to see you take the dive! They
sound good! doubling the sriracha would probably be safe :)
Look really good!

@DeusQain

If you double the sriracha, you need to add more flour and another flavor agent to counteract the garlic. like 4 or 5 tsp of Vanilla instead of 2, and maybe 5 cups of flour instead of 4 1/2 cups.

Are we going to get to see your recipe at any point? :D

I think you mentioned in one of your videos that the recording was all done, you just needed to edit, whenever you could get a machine that could handle it. Is there an ETA on that? (Not to be pushy or anything) I'll be sure to add that to the OP whenever you post it, as this was evidently originally inspired by you.

And yeah, I would definitely double up on the spices from the recipe, as the effect is pretty weak. Thanks for the suggestions.

It's on my list.
I may just post it..

Not sure yet.
