Splashtop streaming games to tablet Advice Needed

Converting an exisitng gaming computer into a splashtop rig to be used with a Gaming tablet.

So invidia has project shield, unfortunately for me I have a pair of 7970s and I am unwilling to trade them out for invidia cards.

I managed to find this 7" gaming tablet that I could use with splashtop to stream over the wifi.

and I am currently testing using my laptop to try to get splashtop to work with as little latency as possible so that when lounging about on my wifi I can play games on this tablet.  The main problem I am running into is 500+ ms of latency between the gaming rig and the recieving device.  I have ordered an intel gigabit nic as my onboard one is as logan put it "crap" and for 30$ it is worth a try.

I was wondering if there was anything else to look over on my rig that might need a tweak or update to lower latency over the wifi as much as possible. (potentially reccomendations on really good wifi routers or if the new wifi go on the new generation z87 motherboards I really dont want the budget for this to go to far over 250$ for the tablet itself, but an upgrade to haswell might be enevitable here.)

If anyone on the forums has any experience with splashtop or has a recomendation for another bit of streaming software that I could use for this application your words of advice would be greatly apreciated.

I realize I am asking alot here, but when it comes to wifi i have no knowledge on the subject.
