Specific Mobo

Hey guy's. I need some help. What is the cheapest motherboard that could fit my new GFX Card, and my old processor.I'm looking to upgrade to a PNY - Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX OC (Good card bad card? I'm on a tight budget) My old CPU Is an AMD Athlon XP 2800+, 2.09 GHz.I'm looking for the cheapest motherboard that will fit both the newer GPU, and the older (Much older...) CPU.Is this possible? What are my other options? Thanks.-Elliott

Anyone?

I do not recommend getting a new MoBo unless you are planning on getting a new CPU.

The cheapest MoBo I can recommend is the Gigagbyte 740g any lower and you looking for trouble.

And I reccomend you get a new CPU the Athlon 250 just came out and it looks a good value:

Those both look good, I also ran across this:Â http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4443957&CatId=2621Would this work? Or am I missing something..Thanks.

Well I'd say that's the minimum you should get. Maybe upgrade in the future?

On the other hand: the 250 option would only be about 35$ more and you'd get a lot more performance and overclocking potential with that.

Using that 9800 GTX with that athlon, your just asking for bottleneck. No point in getting that video card unless you plan on upgrading your cpu now or very soon.

So the 250 wouldn't bottleneck at all? Also how would that set up work? Would you reccomend it?Lastly, I have an Antec 500W PSU, Would that suffice? I have few periphrialsÂ

A 500w PSU should be plenty adequate to power 9800GTX. The 250 should not bottleneck the 9800 at all.
Also I'm guessing you might have to get some new memory too judging from that CPU.
Get 2 - 4 Gigs of DDR2 it's rather cheap or if you wanted to go the future proof way you could get these

and some DDR3

that with the 250 costs 180. But I recommend you waite a little these are rather new things that I am suggesting and they generally drop in price after a month or two.

Alright, thanks for the advice. =]
