So, I'm looking to get some new speakers, my budget is about £30. Also, I've noticed that a lot of PC speakers come with a subwoofer, how big is this subwoofer (normally)?

Yeah, I've been looking at the 210's and 230's.
Don't expect anything great with that amount of money. Subwoofers vary greatly, you will probably be getting something small like a 4" subwoofer. But that 4" subwoofer is better than nothing.
30$ speakers?
Get some Logitech x540's good and cheap.
