Soundblaster Z not working under Linux

I recently installed Nobara on my SSD as a partition and proceeded to update my system. Everything seemed fine until I tried watching some YouTube videos, but unfortunately, I encountered an issue with the sound. There’s no audio coming from my sound card. Interestingly, when I plug in my headset into the Realtek (onboard), everything works perfectly fine. It seems that the sound card is recognized by the system, so I assume the drivers are more or less functioning properly. Im using Nobara.

Its a PCIe device. What does lspci say when you type it in terminal? Can it be detected?

Not sure how it works with Fedora based distros, but a good place to start looking would be in AlsaMixer:

If HDA Creative is shown here, remember to turn off the “HP/Speaker Auto Detect” setting. Also ensure that your output is set to your preferred device (headhones or speakers).

On Debian, I believe you have to install the firmware-misc-nonfree package to fully enable Sound Blaster cards. Fedora likely has an equivalent.

I’ve installed Ubuntu and tried these settings out. It worked! Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on Nobara, even though I had the exact settings. The only difference compared to Ubuntu was that I had to select the card with F6 on Nobara.

Same not working in Debian Trixie :frowning:
