What is the difference between a 7.1 and a 5.1 sound card besides the price and should i get a 7.1 card even if it costs more ?

One has 6 speakers the other has 8

So its like... 2 extra speakers positioned behind you for 7.1 surround.giving you a little more depth, so its almost like the difference between stereo and mono but only for 2 extra back speakers.
