Looking forward to the new battlefield 4. I would like to play the game with some very decent settings. Currently I have a 23" 1080p monitor. I am looking to upgrade the monitor as it is a crappy cheap acer. I would like to stay in the 23-27" range 1080p. I don't think 1440p will be cost effective for another year or two. Monitor wise and videocard wise. Also my big question is the video card. Battlefield 3 I believe had suggested requirements of a 6950. I never played it on pc so I wouldn't know how my settup would preform. Battlefield 4's specs have yet to be released. But I'm thinking it may be leaning towards 7950 as its suggested videocard. So I guess my question is do I a.)just pick up a 7950/7970 b.) hold out for the next generation radeon HD cards. or c.) pick up another 5870. If i were to go the crossfire route i would be losing 1gb because there is no way I am going to dish out $200+ on a 2gb 5870 on ebay. The 1gb versions go for about $100. As for the processor I think it is fine. I will attempt to OC it if it is an issue before i upgrade. For those who don't know the 5870 and 6870 are almost identical. In fact benchmark wise the 5870 pulls ever so slightly ahead. Atleast on cpubentchmark.com So don't think of it as a 2 generation old videocard. 5xxx series were the last of the ATI cards. 6xxx and up are AMD brand.
